Entering 2020 felt like a fresh new start. Leaving 2019 behind, and starting a new decade felt promising. People were so optimistic, it felt inspiring. Unfortunately, reality hit, and things weren’t off to a great start for a lot of people in 2020. The world seemed like it was going through an internal battle with itself; natural disasters, complications in government, a global pandemic. All these things and so much more were happening all around the world, we were all ready to say “f*CK it” to 2020. One of the most devastating events that happened in 2020 was the unfortunate death of NBA basketball player, Kobe Bryant, along with his daughter, Gianna, and eight other people on March 26, 2020. This struck the entire world and millions were heartbroken. For us, here at RICH Tribe, we can remember the day vividly the moment we found out about the tragic news. It almost didn’t feel real, and it was hard for us to accept for the longest time. It hurts today just as much as it did over a year ago.

Kobe Bryant was a huge role model to everybody here at RICH Tribe. The tragedy took some time for us to accept and move on. As one of million other fans, we were inspired by his Mamba Mentality. Of all the brilliant things Kobe said, this spoke to us the loudest- “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.” As soon as we were reminded, we knew exactly what our next collection would be.
